Bigg Boss season 6 launch episode: A recap

The wait finally came to an end with Bigg Boss season six alag che hitting the screens yesterday (7 October 2012) on Colors... revealing its contestants. Well... the episode started with Salman Khan, the host, dancing on some of his numbers. Once the chiggy wiggy moments passed, Tiger Khan went ahead to unravel the super cool Bigg Boss house to everyone. And the sneak peek moment was an awesome one as fans got to see not one but six different avatars of Salman Khan, all from his recent blockbuster movies. Then came the moment when one after the other...contestants came rolling in. A funny moment rolled in when in a heated debate staged between Daler Mehndi and Navjot Singh Sidhu...the latter finally emerged triumphant at the end of the verbal tussle (thanks to his wife) and got a key to the house...all done in jest by the production house (Endemol). Next to enter the house was yeh toh bada toing hai model Sana Khan. Sana performed on Chikni Chameli and Halkat Jawani. After which she seemed way a bit mushy mushy towards Salman Khan. Well...everyone knows jispe bhai ka haath ho...woh Bollywood mein famous hoga hi. No harm giving a shot...what say Sana? (wink wink). Then came funny man Vrajesh Hirjee who from the word ‘go’ started pelting words (rather unclear) to the camera. He has come in with some agenda in the mind for sure. Gulabia gang leader Sampat Pal, and two sexy television vamps Urvashi Dholakia and Aashka Goradia walked in with much pomp and flare. What unfolded was a little lock and key moment on the stage with Aashka and Urvashi. They both started fighting for the keys to enter and peace prevailed with only Salman entering the picture. Next came the rickshaw wala. Oops...we mean Bhojpuri actor Dinesh lala Yadav Nirahua who entered the stage as cyclewala. He danced on a few numbers with Bojpuri actress Monaliza. Well... yet again Salman tried creating suspense around who was entering the house next and he finally revealed it was Dinesh and not Monaliza. Highly dramatic we must say. But, before Dinesh entered the house he assured the audiences that he will wear a gamcha (a cloth that North Indians wrap around their head) all the time. Celebrity hair dresser Sapna Bhavani was the next to come on the Bigg Boss stage. The Bindaas lady was a treat to look at after all the television drama. But there was some more of that rona-dhona and shocking reactions with Delnaaz Irani’s entry. As she entered the stage... an AV was being played on her family members Cutting a realistic note was controversial cartoonist Aseem Trivedi who was recently sent behind the bars on charges of blasphemy. We must admit that his gestures were quite spirited. Sayantani Ghosh entered the stage in her Nagin style and dance on Maiya Maiya. Boy she can sway like crazy... The makers also brought in a little Himesh Reshammiyaan Tadka. He sang, praised Salman bhai and then went to his home (yeh...that’s it...he is not a part of the show). But eyebrows did flicker with Rajeev Paul entering the house. As we all know Delnaaz and he was once married. It would be interesting to witness what would be the kahaani of this estranged couple after spending time together in the house. We won’t ponder much on Radhe...the parrot and Oh Fish...who we believe are an addition to the series to up the fun element. Next contestants to don the mantle of inmates were Salman Khan’s best friend model Niketan Mandhok and super model Karishma Kotak. And last but not the least entered the common man.... Kashif Qureshi. Well...after the initial episode...it seemed that the contestants have been gelling well. But only time will show their asli rang...
