MUMBAI: Kaun Banega Crorepati 12 is a much-loved quiz-based game show. Amitabh Bachchan who is the host of the show leaves no stone unturned to keep the viewers hooked to the television screens. However, it seems he has now landed in a trouble.
Well, host Amitabh Bachchan has come under the scanner as netizens call out his remark on social media. Gita Gopinath, Chief Economist of the International Monetary Fund recently tweeted a clip, which featured her in a question. In the quiz show host Amitabh Bachchan praises her during a round with a contestant on the popular game show.

Showing an image of the economist, the question is "The economist seen in this image has been the chief economist of which organisation since 2019.” Seeing her picture, host Big B comments, “Itna khoobsurat chehra inka, economy ke saath koi jor hi nhi sakta.” (Her face is so beautiful that no one can relate her to economy.)
Gita shared this clip and wrote, “Ok, I don't think I will ever get over this. As a HUGE fan of Big B @SrBachchan, the Greatest of All Time, this is special!”
Big B humbly replied to her tweet, “Thank you Gita Gopinath ji .. I meant every word i said about you on the show .. said in utmost earnestness…”
However, netizens seem to have taken offense to the said clipping and called Big B’s remark made on her beauty as ‘sexist’. They didn’t like him comparing beauty with brains. A user wrote, “I didn’t like the comment about linking beauty with brains. Stupid of Mr. Bachchan to suggest that beautiful women can’t be economists.” Another user wrote, “How sexist the comment was, why can’t a beautiful face be not associated with economy? Beauty & brain can be together & need not be mutually exclusive!”
