Karan Tacker of Star Plus’ Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai is a relieved man these days. “After the long cancer track, the story is finally heading for some happy moments with Maanvi (Niaa Sharma) getting cured and entering the Vadhera household. Let’s face it… we guys don’t like to cry. But I am glad that with marriage, we are now returning to romantic and lighter settings.”
Karan further continues, “The crux will now be the equation between Virat’s (Kushal Tandon) aunt Swamini Vadhera (Seema Kapoor) and the two daughter-in-laws. But one big difference from other shows is that even with family drama kicking in; we will not lose the romantic element for both the principle couples are young.”
Since he does not want to weep buckets, does that not go against the grain of popular logic that Indian public like high drama?
“I don’t think so…engaging stuff always sells, be it of any genre. What really matters is that you tell a great story where all the characters fit into place. Is this not the reason for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s success for the past several years? This SAB TV show has no drama, yet rates better than most family sagas. The perfect combination for such a successful show can come from a great writing team and talented actors who can bring the magic on screen.”
Last but not the least Karan who came into prominence with the youth show Rang Badalti Odhani (Star One) says, “One of the biggest plus points of Ek Hazaaron is that we have changed the face of Star Plus. This numero uno channel on the GEC is now making shows for audiences in 25-30 year group, as opposed to earlier where the target group was 40+.”
Here’s wishing you more success in future… Karan!!!
