In the upcoming episodes of Sony Entertainment Television’s Parvarrish, a new family is set to enter in which Ashish Kaul plays a rich man opposite Kamya Punjabi.
Having been in this industry for quite a long time, Ashish made his presence felt in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kkusum among other projects and has done several episodes in Haunted Nights, CID and will soon be seen doing an episodic in Crime Patrol.
The actor shares professional and personal life with Tellychakkar.com.
Says Ashish, “Well, I have been in this industry since quite a long time. Of late, there has been a change in the trend in the television industry. For this, let me share with you an incident that occurred with me. Veteran producer and director Ajai Sinha, with whom I worked ten years ago got in touch with me again recently. He said that since the practice in the industry has changed, he had to use coordinators to get in touch with me, even after knowing me well. I remember that in those gone by days we used to shoot for eight to nine hours but now as Sinha himself shares they have to follow the 12 hours shift even if his work is over; he has to have add-on scenes. This shows that the entire scenario in the television industry has undergone a big change.”
What kind of changes does one get to see? “Not only in working pattern, but even the way shows are dealt with. Earlier, a kind of drama was shown in three different ways like in Kkusum, Kahani and Kausati Zindagi Kay. Nowadays also one needs drama, but now, new and fresh faces comprise the leads while the supporting cast consists of senior and experienced actors,” Ashish maintains.
“Earlier, in the times of Kahani, there were days when TRP of 20 and 21 was considered high. But today, a TRP of 6 and 7 is considered good. But there are some who say that this is because of the result of TRP being rigged. The same applies for the shows bagging low numbers. Here, I would like to say that come what may, the TRP factor should not affect acting; an actor should only focus on his acting talent and nothing else.”
Coming to his personal life, he avers, “Talking about why I decided to take up Parvarrish is that I am very much like the reel character who gives ample liberties to his children, in terms of money, the source of enjoyment. This is just to let them know the value-for-money. In real life, my son Vivan is 12 years old while my daughter Anika is eight years. I and my wife Geetanjali are super cool parents. My son knows driving but I don’t allow him to drive as he is legally not allowed to drive. He has even proposed a girl. I am fine with it as I have told my kids whatever they do, they should keep us informed. Since Vivan is an amazing dancer, I have opened a dancing academy for him. On the other hand, Anika is in love with a guy and is all the time on BBM; just imagine she asking me as to what should she wear. I am raising my kids to live in a frank and fearless matter. I am of the view that they should live in such a way that that they should not hide anything from me.”
He continues, “Moreover, they should understand and value everything in life and learn to move on. They should not ponder about things. The other reason why I decided to take up Parvarrish is because I know Shweta Tiwari very well, I having worked with her earlier too. The same applies with Vishal Singh. Hence, I took up the role and I am sure, fans will love it as I am doing a daily after three years,”
Well, Ashish we wish you all the best for your future endeavors!
