Hussain replaces Prajakta on Indian Idol

Here is good news for all Hussain fans. He is back with the fifth season of Indian Idol. He is replacing Prajakta Shukre as host in the gala rounds. He is co-hosting it with Abhijeet Sawant. Shukre hosted auditions of this season which was conducted in various cities of India. There has been a buzz that Sawant too may get replaced in the gala rounds but right now it is known that Shukre will not be part of the actual show. “We always mentioned our team will observe how both Abhijeet and Prajakta will fare in the auditions and then we will decide whether to continue with them for studio rounds or not. However, we were not very impressed with Prajakta’s performance. So Hussain will start shooting with us from tomorrow for gala rounds,” our source from the show says. Shukre says, “My contract with the channel was only for the auditions, so it is true I am not hosting the gala rounds.” A source close to Hussain too confirms the news and says, “It is right that he will be hosting the studio rounds of Indian Idol, but at this point of time he can not divulge much about it.” In the last season as well auditions were hosted by season three contestants Meiyang Chang and Deepali Kishore and then Chang was joined by Hussain in the studio rounds. Currently, the contestants selected from the Mumbai rounds are shooting for reality footage in Madh Island. The shooting with the three judges Anu Malek, Sunidhi Chauhan and composer Salim is starting from tomorrow and is expected to go on till Friday (April 16). It is also said that in between the show contestants of past seasons will make special appearances. Namit Sharma, Business Head, Wizcraft says, “There was no strategy to have two male hosts for the show this season. But we will keep on experimenting with the show to sustain the freshness of the show. By tomorrow you will get a better idea about who the second host is.”
