Looks like Star Plus will do anything to revive its relationship with Ekta Kapoor or what else can justify the channel’s decision to put the shoot of Vikram Bhatt’s and BBC’s upcoming thrillers on hold. Looks like Star Plus will do anything to revive its relationship with Ekta Kapoor or what else can justify the channel’s decision to put the shoot of Vikram Bhatt’s and BBC’s upcoming thrillers on hold. Apparently, the shoot for Bhatt’s thriller was to start from tomorrow but the channel has asked him to hold the shoot for indefinite time. BBC too has been informed to halt the shoot of its show.
Informs a source from Bhatt’s ASA productions, “What we are hearing is that the channel wants to first launch Ekta’s show and has asked Vikram to hold the shoot of his show. Vikram was directing the show and was upbeat about this project. He had recently shot the pilot but the channel has asked him to stop shooting for a while. They have told him that he can start the shoot once the channel gives him a go-ahead. It is only possible if the channel isn’t happy with the output after seeing the pilot.”
Actress Mansi Parekh who replaced Pooja Bose to play the protagonist in the show says, “We had shot two episodes of the show but it seems there have been some technical glitches. We will now start the shoot sometime next month.”
Despite repeated attempts we couldn’t get through Bhatt.
We also tried to find out if the decision has affected the future of another thriller an adaptation of popular international series Afterlife. Lead actress Shreya Narayan says, “We were always scheduled to start the shoot in May.”
Though a source closely associated with BBC’s show says, “Things look dicey now and we will not be surprised if they shelve the project. We had given them the pilot and they asked us to make certain alterations. After making the required changes, the pilot was again submitted to the channel which in turn asked us to make more changes and we did the needful. After that there was no communication from the channel. It is probably some internal strategy. I am not sure of the future of the show.”
Meanwhile, Vasudha Jha, VP, Corporate Communications, Star TV remained unavailable.
