The television industry has seen massive growth: Pallavi Rao

MUMBAI: Actress Pallavi Rao, who is currently seen in "Pandya Store", has been a part of the TV industry for over a decade now, and admitted that it has changed drastically over the years. Sharing her views on the same, he said, "The people who have been here for a long time would have seen growth. The kind of money that is involved in today’s times as compared to before is completely different. The kind of shows that were made earlier on DD and other channels, there was different budgeting, but in today’s times it goes over the top."

"They do outdoor shoots now, go to different locations, that has never happened earlier. Even I went to Siddhpur for 'Shubharambh' and Bikaner for "Pandya Store" to give a realistic feel, and it gives a boost to the region and promotes it too. So I feel the television industry has seen massive growth and I find this growth very positive," the "Kulfi Kumar Bajewala" actress added.

What about the content? "Content in the industry has been very vast, it has always been about the audience and entertainment. If you see the content on television, it is not like people are stuck in saas-bahu drama, I have seen a lot of good content. Some out-of-the-box ideas were made and also on social and personal issues. So good content was always there and I am just hoping that it gets better in the future as well," she said.

The pandemic and the lockdown were tough on the entertainment industry as the shoots were stopped for almost three months. While a lot of shows were pulled down by the channels during that time, a couple of shows which went on-air after the lockdown have also gone off-air in just a few months. Sharing her views on the same, the "Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi" actress said, The entertainment industry is run by the audience. It completely depends upon the audience what they want to watch, it is totally their criteria and their choice. It is very difficult to pinpoint the after-lockdown effect."

"It is very easy to say that a show went off-air because of low TRP but people, like technicians, makeup artists, etc, who are working behind it what they are going through nobody knows. For actors, as well, when a show goes off-air it is not easy as it is difficult to get another show immediately," Pallavi concluded.
