MUMBAI: With the media industry coming a long way post-crossing two whole decades, Hindi entertainment industry's TG i.e. the Indian audience has witnessed major evolutions in specially the plot patterns of their favourite TV shows over this time span.
From introducing new genres, embracing creativity and open-mindedness, altering character sketches and developments, showcasing generation-preferences from time to time, welcoming bold-scenes and uplifting costume margins for portraying a character's personality (not applicable for historical dramas though), the expressive quotient of the media industry has become pretty flexible in these past 20-30 years.
However, a major reason why today's shows are being heavily lauded by the audience is because of the smashing of the petty, age-old and disturbing social stigmas that don't justify human rights and human's right to expression, thus, defying an individual's sense of freedom. Stigmas like boycott of widow-remarriage, name changing post-marriage, body-shaming, racism, character-shaming on the basis of individual's clothing sense and profession, hindering an individual's right to education, etc.
To cut it short, today's TV serials aim at spreading mass awareness by highlighting these meaningless and age-old stigmas which are unfortunately still imbibed in our society's grassroot cultures, in order to get them eradicated ASAP and ensure individual's empowerment.
