Sneh Binny: Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss closing line is perfect, “Do whatever you want to do”

MUMBAI: Entrepreneur Sneh Binny believes that mental health is everything. It does not just play a vital role in achieving success as well as having a healthy body.

“If you’re mentally strong then nothing can harm you. It’s important to manage good mental health. I look up to Morris E Goodman and totally loved reading his book The Miracle Man. Following his recovery from a plane crash that left him paralyzed, he was unable to move, breathe, swallow, walk or talk normally, he came out of everything stronger. He could do this because he was mentally healthy and strong. There is so much to learn from him,” says the co-owner of Delhi Binny’s Brigade tennis team.

Like many of us, Sneh too takes care of his physical health and didn't give much importance to mental health. “It took me time to realize that if you’re mentally healthy, half is done already. But I feel if you’re mentally unhealthy then physical health also deteriorates. Do that one thing that you love and make you happy, it’s not necessary to do yoga. It’s as simple as talking about things with your loved ones, friends, and family. Be active and eat well. Simple things that make you happy,” he adds.

When asked if people from the entertainment industry are generally targeted when it comes to depression and anxiety, he replies, “Not really, it’s because people from the entertainment industry are always in the limelight. They are not targeted. Nobody is targeted. Anyone could get depressed or anxious around you, or even you could, and you wouldn’t even know it. And it’s just the entertainment industry, everyone goes through stress in their own way. Daily wage workers have their own kind of stress, businessman, doctors, engineers, teachers, and people from the entertainment industry too have their own issues. Nobody can feed themselves or their family without stress, it’s all around us.”

On days he feels blue, Sneh takes a break from the monotony and do something different or something that he enjoys. “I get my “me time” at least once a week when I do things that I like and take a break. I always do what I like, every single day. Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss closing line is perfect, “Do whatever you want to do”. If you do whatever you really want to do, and makes you feel happy, then do it, just make sure your happiness should not harm anyone,” he says.

Sneh feels meditation definitely helps. It’s one of the important and easy ways to maintain good mental health. “But as I said you can do anything that you like. I feel awareness around mental health is still lacking. People should be made more aware about how to keep themselves mentally healthy. Suicide seems to be an easy way out to many but it’s not. One wrong step ruins the lives of your loved ones, friends, and family,” he ends.
