MUMBAI: Popular television actor Karan Mehra, who played the role of an ideal father and a doting husband in one of the country's longest running daily soaps, has been accused of beating his wife.

Nisha Rawal, also a TV actor, alleged that her husband Karan thrashed her after a fight last night. The 38-year-old actor, who played the lead on popular TV show "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai", was arrested from his Mumbai house over the complaint. Shortly after, he was granted bail. 

The entertainment industry is full of such incidents, where on one side there is a lot of blossoming love, one also gets to hear about serious physical abuses in hush-hush voices.

Shweta Tiwari and Abhinav Kohli

Shweta Tiwari and Abhinav Kohli are the names which come to mind when we think of high-profile fallouts of marriages. The couple also a toddler son together, who has been a prime reason of their marital troubles. There has been more than one instance when either of them has taken to social media and accused each other of misconduct. 

Daljeet Kaur and Shaeen Bhanot 

In an ugly twist in their televised love story, Nach Baliye winner, Daljeet Kaur Bhanot has accused her husband and co-contestant Shaleen Bhanot of constant torture and domestic violence over the six years the couple has been married. 

During pregnancy, Daljeet had developed severe asthma problems, but even then Shaleen never used to accompany her to the doctors. Daljeet further adds that Shaleen didn’t even want her to undergo caesarean and had accused her of influencing the doctors. Soon after they returned home, Shaleen stopped accompanying Daljeet and their son Shaarav for the baby’s vaccinations. “He was never there – physically, emotionally or financially. He would go missing every night. It was evident from his behaviour that he is involved with other women,” Daljeet said in an interview. 

Dimpy Ganguly and Rahul Mahajan

Rahul Mahajan got married to Dimpy Ganguly on national TV in 2010 on reality show Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayega. The couple got divorced four years later on February 25, 2014, after his second wife accused him of kicking, punching and beating her up.

Rahul beat me up early on Thursday morning after waking me up to know the contents of a message that had beeped on my phone. When I asked him to go back to sleep, he flew into a rage and began hitting me. He punched, kicked and dragged me by hair," the 22-year-old model told a TV channel.

Well, there is always another side to this glitzy world of entertainment, which we often fail to seize.
