MUMBAI: The coronavirus pandemic has affected everyone in some way and just like several other professionals, TV actors have been badly hit too. Nirbhay Wadhwa, who has played the role of Lord Hanuman in various TV shows, is also one of them. Having no work during the lockdown put him in a difficult situation financially and to deal with the crisis, the actor had to sell off his favourite superbike.
Talking about the ordeal, Nirbhay says, “Sitting at home for almost one-and-a-half years made things worse and all my savings got exhausted due to this lockdown. I was out of work for so long, no live shows were happening and some of my payments also got delayed. Though I tried my best, there was a time when I had no option but to sell off my superbike. Being a big-time adventure freak, this bike was my prized possession but I had no choice. Since the bike was at my Jaipur home, I travelled to Jaipur in March and sold it off to the company. Since it was very costly (he had spent ₹ 22 lakhs), finding a buyer was another problem. Nobody was ready to pay even half of that price. After I could not find a buyer, I contacted the company and sold it for ₹ 9.5 lakhs.”

Nirbhay had bought this bike in 2016 and had done many adventure trips on it, both solo and group trips with his biker friends. The actor, who is back on the small screen essaying the role of Lord Hanuman in Vighnaharta Ganesh, is optimistic that things will change soon. He says, “Everyone is going through difficult times. But I don’t lose hope and believe in karma. Soon, life will come back to normalcy. I am doing my job and soon, I will be in a position to buy another bike. I am hoping for the best.”
