In a tete-a-tete Tapeshwari tells us about her journey of being an actor and DJ being a part of several TV shows and juggling between her profession and personal life. Excerpts:

Q. Can you describe your journey of being an Actor and DJ

A. For a small town girl like me it is like a dream, of course for which I had to work very hard . Even though I was from a small town and born in a very conservative Marwari family , my parents were very progressive and supportive of my choices and my dreams. They sent me to a boarding school in Rajasthan at the age of 11 so I could get good education and also learn a lot of other things and become a well rounded person. Staying away from them at a young age is the hardest thing I had to do, but it made me a strong person. Then after finishing my graduation in symbiosis college, pune, I came to Mumbai to study HR management in NMIMS . All along harboring the dream to become an Actor. Then I was spotted outside my college and was asked to give an introduction for Balaji and thats how my acting journey began. After working in the industry for about 8 years and doing about 10-12 shows I got married and continued working. But when i was expecting my child i took a break . After that , acting in tv was difficult , but I loved music and dancing so I did a course in DJing and started playing in clubs and events .

Q. You have worked in several tv shows like Madhubala , Sasural Genda Phool etc, How was your experience and do u miss being on the sets ?

A. - It has been a wonderful experience being a part of these amazing shows and fulfilling my lifelong dream of being an actor. It is not easy , I have given a 100 auditions to land a role but working in these shows was totally worth it. I miss being on the sets a lot and now I know that when I get back its going to be with a lot more knowledge and enthusiasm.

Q. You have also been a part of a mythological show ' Devon ke Dev Mahadev As an actor do you approach a mythological show any differently that a fiction show ?

A. - Well i think working in a mythological show is much more difficult than doing a fiction show. Firstly the language in mythological shows is not our casual hindi, so its difficult to get these lines correct and get that feel of that era, also the costumes are very heavy and it gets physically exhausting to carry that look day in and day out. And in my role I had to do sword fighting , horse riding , dancing in these costumes. So it was challenging but absolutely amazing and I am very happy to have had that experience .

Q. You are a DJ as well , how did you develop an interest in that ?

A. - I love listening to music , mainly bollywood music and i love dancing. I do go out a lot to clubs too and then it just struck me that I should learn Djing as I felt I would be good at it and I would again get to work on something that I enjoy, so I went ahead and did a course. It wasnt easy balancing motherhood and going for classes and practicing but I knew that I wanted it so I worked hard and finished my course and started DJing .

Q. Being a DJ how do you see the pandemic change nightlife ? Do you believe virtual parties are here to stay ?

A. - The pandemic has really affected the nightlife and all those people who work in this sector. And parties being non essential are the last to open up. As a part of this industry it has been difficult adjusting to this, virtual parties are great but it cannot replace the nightlife. The whole purpose of nightlife is socialising and meeting people and being around a lot of people , which the virtual parties cannot offer. Having hosted a lot of live sessions on social media myself I know that the energies in virtual parties cannot match up to the regular night scene. so yaa, according to me Virtual parties are definitely a good option but the nightlife has to come back .

Q. How have you been coping with the pandemic ? Any tips for your fans .

A. - It has been hard but I try to keep my spirits up. I have a routine for myself and my family in weekdays and in weekends we do whatever we need to do to keep ourselves mentally healthy whether its watching movies or spending fun evenings with family . For me doing live sessions , making dance videos and social media has been helpful in having some kind of social life and interaction with people, its important to unwind and its important to take care of people's mental health who you live with. So be kind to people around you and don't take too much stress.

Q. You have a busy professional life and the entertainment industry is hard , how do you manage to juggle professional and personal fronts with such ease ?

A. - It may look easy but its very hard . The biggest role in this is of my husband and my family members who support me in my dreams and are always ready to help me when I need them. I believe in planning out my hours , my days my weeks so that I can do justice to every thing that i am doing. For me , when I have all my tasks written down , it helps me in achieving them . So I think being clear about what I have to do and having a good plan can help in finding that balance .
