MUMBAI: Manoj Bajpayee is a powerhouse of talent. His acting skills have garnered appreciation from all corners. Both the seasons of his web series The Family Man have done well.
However, looks like comedian Sunil Pal has not liked the series. Recently, Sunil called Manoj a ‘badtameez (ill-mannered)’ and ‘gira hua aadmi (fallen man)’ and likened Manoj’s popular series The Family Man to ‘porn’.
Manoj Bajpayee laughed off Sunil Pal’s recent barbs against him and suggested that he take up meditation. On being asked about Sunil Pal’s comments, Manoj Bajpayee told Hindustan Times in an interview, “I understand people don’t have jobs. I completely understand. I have been in this situation. But in these kinds of situations, people should meditate.”

Sunil won the stand-up comedy reality show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005. He has since done minor comic roles in films such as Phir Hera Pheri and Apna Sapna Money Money. Earlier this month, Sunil said that many bigwigs are exploiting the lack of censorship on digital platforms and making content that is unfit for a family audience. He then lashed out at Manoj and The Family Man. “Manoj Bajpayee kitna hi bada actor hoga, kitne hi bade awards mile, par usse zyada badtameez aur gira hua aadmi maine nahi dekha (However big an actor Manoj Bajpayee is and how many ever prestigious awards he has won, I have never seen a more ill-mannered and immoral man),” he said.
Further, the comedian added that Manoj, despite receiving top honours in the country, is involved in making ‘porn’-like content. He criticised the plot of the second season of The Family Man - Priyamani’s character Suchi’s implied affair with her colleague, the ‘minor’ daughter’s relationship track and the son ‘behaving older than his age’. “Yeh saari cheezein jo hai na bandh honi chahiye. Yeh bhi ek porn hai. Porn sirf dikhane ka nahi hota, vichaaron ka bhi porn hota hai (All these things should be banned. Even this is a type of porn. Porn is not only about what we see but of thoughts as well),” he said.
