MUMBAI: In keeping with the over-the-top nature of the show, the launch of Karan Johar hosted Bigg Boss OTT was no less extravagant. The ace filmmaker and host of Bigg Boss OTT made his entry to the beats of dhol-taasha and shaking a leg to hits like 'It's The Time to Disco', 'Radha' and 'Shawa Shawa' from his productions.
After the over-the-top performance, the sassy and witty host introduced the 6 desi boys to the audience and then the girls were introduced one after another.
Actress Shamita Shetty was the first contestant to be introduced amongst the girls and she set the stage sizzling for the rest of the contestants with her performance on her hit number 'Sharara Sharara'. With the theme of the house being 'Stay Connected', contestants Shamita Shetty, Akshara Singh, Neha Bhasin, Ridhima Pandit, Urfi Javed, Divya Agarwal, Muskan Jattana had to choose their connections, that will help them decide their fate ahead in the game.
Meanwhile, before the first episode of Bigg Boss OTT aired on Voot, Shamita took to her Instagram handle to share a cryptic post which seemed like a justification of her participation in the controversial reality show at a time when her family - bother-in-law Raj Kundra and sister Shilpa Shetty, are going through a tough time in their personal lives with the arrest of the former in the pornography racket.
Alongside a boomerang holding a mask covering and then uncovering her face, the actress wrote, there is no need to hide and it is time to stand up, hold the head high and show the world what you have got. Shamita ended her message, with, "Bigg Boss OTT-Here I come!!".
"Don't hide yourself, Stand up, Keep your head high, And show them What you got !!!!!!!! Bigg boss OTT- Here I come !!" Shamita Shetty wrote on Instagram and she used the hashtags of "#BBOtt#BBOnVoot#Voot
#ItnaOTT#BiggBoss#colors#biggboss #ShamitaShetty#teamss #TeamSS", along with the caption.

In fact, during her interaction with Karan Johar on the Bigg Boss OTT premiere night, the 'Sharara Sharara' dancer said that she was approached for the show before the Raj Kundra controversy surfaced. She also mentioned that she had committed to doing the show months before Raj Kundra's arrest and that there was no reason to turn down the show and not show up.
She even used Salman Khan's dialogue in the film 'Wanted to justify her participation in the show. She said, "Ek baar jo maine commitment ka di, uske baad tho main khud ki bhi nahin sunti.".
This is the first time a special digital section has been included in the reality show. With the premiere of Season 15 of Bigg Boss, the show will seamlessly transition to Colors TV following the completion of the digital exclusive.
