Bhuj: The Pride of India Review: A solid story on patriotism with weak execution

MUMBAI: It's independence week and here is the movie based on the heroic story of our soldiers, after a long wait Bhuj: The Pride of India finally hits the digital screen. The movie stars Ajay Devgn as Karnik, alongside Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Sharad Kelkar, Ammy Virk, Pranitha Subhash and Ihana Dhillon and is directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya.

The story of the movie is about the life of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, the then in-charge of the Bhuj airport who, with his team, reconstructed the IAF airbase with the help of 300 women from the local village Madhapar.

The screenplay of the movie is very decent and will make you feel bore at many points and the execution of the brilliant saga of Soldier is poorly done, also the direction is decent of the movie.

The BGM of the movie is one of the USP and surely it enhances your viewing experience.

Talking about the performance, Ajay Devgn as Karnik will impress you for sure, the actor has a solid screen presence in the movie and it’s a treat to watch, on the other hand Sanjay Dutt is pretty decent on his part. Actresses Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi have very few scenes in the movie but have delivered decent work on their part. On the other hand other cast like Sharad Kelkar, Ammy Virk, Pranitha Subhash and Ihana Dhillon were also decent on their part.

The positive points of the movie can be the camera work, the photography and the camera work specially during the war sequences are a treat to watch. As mentioned earlier the BGM of the movie is one of the USP. The VFX of the movie is very strong and it will surely enhance your viewing experience. The war sequences, especially the aerial one, are a treat to watch. The story of the movie is solid but it lacks execution.

The negative points of the movie can be as mentioned earlier the execution, also the screenplay loses its grip in between several times which may drop your interest level. In spite of being a movie based on patriotism, the flavor of Patriotism lacks in this one at many points. Also it seems like actors like Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora atehi are underused in the movie.

Well having said all these points Bhuj: The Pride of India can be seen at least once during this Independence week for the bravery of our soldiers.

Team TellyChakkar goes with 2.5/5 stars for Bhuj: The Pride of India.
