MUMBAI: The singing reality show Indian Idol 12 has gone on to entertain the audience throughout the coronavirus pandemic. The show which has been going on for over ten months now will have its finale on this Independence Day, i.e. on August 15.
Those who will be competing for the coveted trophy are Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal, Shanmukhapriya, Nihal Taura, Md Danish and Sayli Kamble.
The 12-hour-long finale episode will be graced by Shershaah stars Kiara Advani, Sidharth Malhotra and singing stars of the Indian film industry including Udit Narayan, Mika Singh, Annu Kapoor and more.
The three main judges Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani, and Himesh Reshammiya earlier judged the show, but their absence left the viewers concerned in the middle of this season. Neha's absence, in particular, surprised many. The 33-year-old singer whose rags to riches story is known to all has seen many tough days in her life.
Maybe that's one of the reasons why she used to break down at the drop of a hat and that's been one of the main reasons why netizens trolled her online for being "too dramatic.".
Ahead of the grand finale, we take a look back at every time Neha got trolled for crying on the show.
Neha Kakkar once asked a contestant about the marks on his face. The visually impaired man revealed that he once tried to kill himself as he didn't want to be a burden to his parents. His father came on stage and revealed that he and his wife were at work when Abhinash tried to kill himself by pouring kerosene and burning himself.

Neha often received flaks online for showing her vulnerabilities. The makers were also slammed for focussing on the personal lives of contestants (than their talents) during auditions.
The singer, in her defence, has said this is how she is (emotional) and she's proud of it! "Yes, I am an emotional girl and really proud of it! I have a heart that feels people’s emotions... Many people these days have become heartless/ emotionless... I don’t wanna become like them If I find something funny, I laugh my lungs out, if I find something sad, it makes me cry... This is how I am and I’ll remain the same till I’m alive!! I have not only cried but I’ve also helped people several times and I will keep doing that!! Nothing can change me!! In fact, people love me for what I am and for what I do!", Neha said in her defence.
