The first day of the shoot turned memorable for Ajay Sharma for all the wrong reasons. While heading for the shoot of the show Rakshabandhan, the actor almost got looted of his belongings as he waited for the signal to turn green to reach the sets.

In conversation with ETimes, the actor revealed the horrific scene that took place, “I was at a signal when a guy started banging on the window of the shotgun seat where my laptop bag was lying. He asked me to roll down the glass but I somehow gauged his intention behind his aggressive provocation. He was eyeing my bag and his modus operandi could have been shock-and-snatch. I rolled down the window of the driver’s seat but I locked my car centrally, which he apparently didn’t know, or else he would have opened the door in the first place. All this while, I was thinking that I hadn’t overtaken anyone or crossed someone in a wrong way then why this guy was so angry with me. However, my guess turned out to be right eventually. He was just a burglar who fled the scene the minute the signal turned green.”

He further revealed that "I did dial 100but it was of no use as I was told that they wouldn’t be able to help me since I had already left the scene. I was told by them to register the incident at a local police station. Since I was getting late for the shoot, I decided to report the incident the next day. I thought that being a responsible citizen, I should definitely be reporting the incident to the police so that they can retrieve the CCTV footage and nab the culprits. When I went to the police station in Goregaon (East), I was told by the cops that a similar incident was reported against this gang around a year-and-a-half ago and they will initiate the protocol again to nab them. While I was keen on registering an NC (non-cognizable report), I was told that the case isn’t fit for the same. I was told that I could submit an application at the Dhindoshi Police Station, which I am doing today.”

Safety should be the right of every citizen and we applaud Ajay to do the needful that every citizen needs to do.
