Looks like Vindu Dara Singh’s ‘aam aadmi’ dilwala outing as judge in Chak Dhoom Dhoom didn’t cut ice with the viewers for he has been replaced by choreographer Pony Verma. Though Vindu likes us to believe that he bowed out. Vindu admits he was not comfortable judging the show anymore. “I thought I will have fun, however while selecting the final 16 contestants I felt I couldn’t lie to anyone and I was not qualified to judge those kids. If it would have been a laughter show I would have continued it. You have to be careful when you interact with kids. Both Saroj Khan and Ahmed Khan think a lot before giving their judgements. So I think it was right time for me to leave this show at this point of time,” he says. So was it the channel’s decision to replace him? “No, it was a mutual decision. I have no contract with the channel and have a good rapport with Endemol (producer of the show). But I think it is better for a technically efficient person to judge these kids. The channel asked me if I want to continue but I refused. In the second season of the show, I would love to be part of the audition procedure as I enjoyed it a lot.” Many eye brows were raised when the channel had announced Vindu as judge. “I do not think anyone had an issue with me as a judge. Whenever I went out and met people during auditions they told me they liked my work,” he clarifies. We could not get through to Verma despite repeated attempts. Verma will be now judging the 16 kids in the final studio episodes which are expected to be on air by this month-end.
