Exclusive! "This season cannot be called the sequel but it required a different branding" - director Neeraj Pandey on the title ‘Special Ops 1.5’

Neeraj Pandey who earlier gave the web series ‘Special Ops’ is now back with its spin-off series titled Special Ops 1.5, which will throw light on Himmat Singh's journey. Here is what the director has to say about the show.

MUMBAI : No doubt Special Ops which premiered on Hotstar was immensely loved by the fans. The amazing narration and power-packed performances of the actors made the show the talk of the town. And now the makers are back with another season which is the spin-off of the character Himmat Singh, played by actor Kay Kay Menon.

Team TellyChakkar got an exclusive chance to speak with director Neeraj Pandey with regard to the title of the show, where he also spoke in detail about what we are going to see in the upcoming web series.

Neeraj Pandey on Special Ops 1.5

Neeraj Pandey says that the fans have given so much love to the web series Special Ops, especially to the character of Himmat Singh which was played by Kay Kay Menon. And now this fresh new season is completely based on Himmat's character, the show will tell the story of Himmat Singh in detail and what made him the way he was in season 1. How the character Himmat Singh shaped up will be shown in this upcoming web series. This story of Himmat Singh is very personal and we cannot call this one as the sequel but it required a different branding so that is why the title Special Ops 1.5.

Neeraj Pandey on challenges while shooting the show

No doubt Neeraj Pandey is one of the finest filmmakers we have in the Bollywood industry. Special Ops 1.5 throws light on the back story of Himmat Singh. He was very excited to show the character's story and wanted to show it in an exciting manner with the help of VFX and some great performances.

Neeraj Pandey also said that the show was shot during the covid situation. But it was the amazing management done by the production team that they could have shot the show without any trouble.
