Avinash Sachdev
From being a baddie in Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil to the good boy in Choti Bahu, Avinash Sachdev has seen both sides of the coin. We caught up with this young actor to know how it all began… On his early days Honestly, I wasn’t interested in acting. I was more interested in modelling. In fact, I even participated in the Gladrags Model Hunt because I wanted to get into modelling. I won a couple of titles like Mr. Baroda, Mr. University and that really got my interest into modeling. After modelling happened I got a chance into acting which I took up. On the switch from negative to positive roles I was actually surprised when I was offered the negative role! I started out with Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil. But I don’t look at roles as positive or negative. I take roles as they come irrespective of what shade it is. Dream role I don’t actually have one. I want to do a role that has both positive and negative shades. On being offered Dev in Choti Bahu I was doing another show for DJ’s called Nanhi Pari. I was being finalized and then they called me for Choti Bahu. When I heard the title, I was not ready to do the show as the name suggested it was a family drama. I told them I did not want to stand behind the Choti Bahu since the name suggested the show would revolve around her. But they convinced me that it was going to be a love story and not just a family drama. I decided to give the audition and luckily was offered the character of Dev. I am so happy and lucky to be playing Dev because he has many aspects to him. On co-actors and his link- up with Rubina Dilaik The best thing about Choti Bahu is the relationship I share with my co-actors. They are my friends and I have formed many relationships on the set. Like my Daadi (Rita Bhaduri) is actually like my daadi, I treat my on-screen bhabhi (Kirti Kelkar) like my real bhabhi. I have found a very good friend in Rubina too. Currently there is nothing between us. If something happens in the future I will let you know. On his personal life I usually don’t get much free time but when I do, I love going for long drives. I am not one of those actors who only sleep when they get free time (laughs). I like watching movies a lot, though I don’t watch television. Future plans I am not just looking at Bollywood but I want to do something different as well but am not sure what. I like watching movies not just to look at the movie from the actor’s perspective but also from the director’s or the cinematographer’s perspective. Probably behind the camera but am confused about this one too. On reality shows I am not very keen into participating in a reality show but would love to anchor one. I have been offered reality shows but nothing is final yet.
