Yeh Rishta... completes impressive 1100 episodes

Earlier in the day, we wrote about Rajan Shahi’s (Director’s Kut) Amrit Manthan completing a year yesterday (26 February 2013). However, we now hear that 26 February was indeed a celebration day for the production house as their other show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus completed 1,100 episodes on the same day. As per a reliable source, the team had a havan on the sets first thing in the morning today (27 February 2013) for which the entire cast and crew was present. When we contacted Karan Mehra aka Naitik, he confirmed the same and said, “Yes, we did have a havan on the sets but I missed it. But, I feel proud to be associated with the show.” Karan also goes on to thank the fans of the show for being there with them, as he observes, “The entire credit goes to my fans for without their support for Naitik and Akshara (Hina Khan), we wouldn’t have been able to achieve this number. They have been with us in all our ups and downs and that’s what has kept us going. I bow to all those fans out there.” Averred Rajan Shahi, the proud owner of the show, “The team of Yeh Rishta has managed to evolve with time and that’s what has kept it going. It is a special day for us today.” The producer always makes it a point to celebrate a day after the completion of certain number of episodes, hence, when we asked why so, he states, “I wait for the episode to go on-air for till it’s not on-air, we do not complete the number.” We tried contacting Hina, but she remained unavailable for comment in spite of our repetitive attempts.
