Audience Perspective: India's Got Talent V/S Hunarbaaz! Will Netizens choose the same concept but different names?

MUMBAI: India's Got Talent is an iconic show that has successfully completed 8 seasons in India which in itself is a great mark of achievement. The show recently launched with its 9Th season, with the same concept of encouraging talent from all over India and showcasing it to the People of the world. The judging pattern is pretty much the same, so what's different well, for Starters the Judge Panel apart from Kirron Kher who has been the judge since season 1 of the show and has become synonymous with it, this season sees Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Badshah and Manoj Munatashir On the Judge Panel.  The host changes every year but Bharti Singh does hold the record for being on the show for more than two seasons. Arjun Bijlani Takes up the mantle of hosting the series but the biggest change is the streaming channel.

India's Got Talent has been a Colors staple since it launched in the Country. From Seasons 1 to 8 the Show had aired on Colors but that changed with this season airing on Sony TV.

Initially, it felt like a loss for Colors to lose such a staple show but Colors didn't hold back it came up with its own Show 'Hunarbaaz- Desh ki Shaan ' hosted by Duo Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiya, and worked as the television Debut of Bollywood Actor Parineeti Chopra, Marking the return of Mithun Chakravarty as a judge and a Colors loyalist Director-Producer Karan Johar.

The show is also based on the concept of showcasing Indian National Talent across the globe, there are specific criteria as to what is called Talent or Hunaar. Anybody and everybody who feel like they have a specific talent can go to the show. Does the concept sound similar well because it is exactly India's got Talent with a new name and new judges barring one?

The whole thing reeks of an Open rivalry between networks, All does not seem well in the Reality world. And it has very rarely happened that a show with the same concept airs at the same time and on two networks.

Sure, Reality shows compete with each other every weekend but not really shows of the same genre let alone the same concept.

If one channel has a dance talent show going on the other will have a singing talent show which is a smart move to rake in TRPs and also give audiences variety.

With two similar shows on the air, the question arises of what will the audiences choose, A show that they know and love or try a new show because of the glamour it promises. We asked the audiences what they would prefer:

Sanya Desai of Gwalior says, "I have grown watching India's Got Talent so my bias is towards it and especially because it’s such a good bonding time and nostalgic moment.”

Rahul Mishra of Ooty says, "Got Talent is Global Franchise the goodwill of it will draw me more towards it because the origin is International and the chances of the Talent to go global is that much .”

Neha Jaiswal of Raipur says, "Parineeti, Mithun Da and Karan is a very fresh panel of judges and I really like watching that I think because of Parineeti I might tilt towards Hunarbaaz and also Bharti is a great reason as well, Because if the concept is same I think this is what the audience will decide on; The star factor."

Rohan Jain of Nagpur says, "India’s got talent has my votes hands down, and the reason is very simple Kirron Kher, I mean she has been on the show since it began for me that is more important than what channel it is on because she has good chemistry with everyone.”

Deepti Sahani of Jabalpur Says, "I could actually watch both, I mean at least one episode each and what seems more interesting that is what I will continue to watch because you can really tell from one episode, so I have no choice as of yet.”

India's Got Talent has already started airing on the 15th of January, whereas the first episode of Hunarbazz is all set to air from 22nd which is this coming weekend.

Which show grabs more eyeballs only time will tell, But hey more Entertainment for us, right?
