It seems a research conducted by Sony Entertainment Television has found out that young girls from urban India tune in to the channel early in the evening.
And that is why in both Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat and Amita ka Amit (Swastik Productions), the protagonist, of the respective shows, hangs out with her girlfriends. Earlier, friends of the main character, did not generally have important roles, but of late, friends have been gaining importance.
Recently, Tellychakkar.com, on its visit to the sets of Amita ka Amit in Film City, met the pretty light eyed Neha Saxena who plays Priti and Jyoti Sharma who essays the role of Arati. The girls share the same makeup room with Chandni Bhagwanani who plays Amita. Both their characters happen to be doting friends of Amita.
Neha, who hails from Agra, was earlier seen as Mauli in Tere Liye and played the lead character Dhaani in Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai. She told us, “I am thoroughly enjoying playing Priti who is a highly courteous girl and can be rude to nobody. She is very close to Amita; even protests when anyone is pulling a fast one on Amita.”
Priti turned down Sooraj as he had rejected Amita. Would Neha have been so munificent in real life? “I would have surely done the same for my best friend,” she asserts.
Jyoti, who is in the second year of college, is a positive and practical girl like her reel character. Currently, she is doing a correspondence course as she is part of this daily soap. Like Arati, she too wears glasses in real life.
Priti is getting married. Will Aarti follow her soon? “Not so soon, as I am a modern Punjabi girl,” she maintains.
