MUMBAI: Tera Yaar Hoon Main fame Ankita Sahu in this exclusive interview with TellyChakkar talks about her upcoming film web series Mombian – Gul & Sakshi Ki Pyaaari Si Love Story. The actress talks about her character, how she bagged the role of Sakhi, and her initial struggling days.

Tell us about your character in the web series Mombian - Gul & Sakshi Ki Pyaaari Si Love Story.

I am playing the character of Sakshi in the web series. It is a love story where you don’t consider gender and where two people can go at any level for their happiness. They accept each other wholeheartily. It deals with the problems the couple has to face in society. It doesn’t matter who your partner is. It is all about unconditional love.

How did you bag the role of Sakshi?

I got this role through casting only. I was sent a brief script about the character from our director. Then he asked me to come and meet him. When he started narrating the story, he just asked me one question. He asked me whose character I can connect with. I told him that I feel I can connect with Sakshi’s character. When I heard the full story, immediately I said yes to the project.

Throw some light on your initial struggle period.

I come from a very different background. I am a share market advisor. My interest is in fashion. So when I shifted to Mumbai, I was associated with different fields like direction, production, and creative departments. I did all this to gain knowledge about acting. I have learned everything about acting by being on the sets. So, one day when I went to give an audition for an ad, the casting director came to me and said, "You have good looks but you don’t know how to act, so first go and learn acting. After that incident, I started working hard on my acting skills. So I always had that hunger where I have to learn and polish my skills. Now I just want to be in front of the camera and work.
