MUMBAI: Ekta Kapoor's magnum reality show Lock Upp will be hosted by the queen of controversies Kangana Ranaut. Lock Upp will have 17 celebrities in jail. They must play the game to get bail and survive on the show. Kangana Ranaut will make her OTT debut as a host and will guide the participants.
Nisha Rawal is the first confirmed contestant of the show. Many names have been floating around as potential participants for the show, including Ishaan Seghal, Miesha Iyer, Pratik Sehjapal, and Shehnaaz Gill.
Poonam Pandey, a model, and actress has been revealed as the third competitor in Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's brave reality show Lock Upp.
Poonam, who made her Bollywood debut in 2013 with 'Nasha,' is excited to be a part of the drama and says she has no idea what would happen inside the jail and only knows a little about the concept.
TellyChakkar exclusively spoke to Poonam about fan reactions and the kind of people she would stay away from.
When your promo was released, it became quite the talking point. What was the kind of reaction you got from fans?
The reactions were insane. They were overwhelming and I am so grateful for all the love that is coming my way. So many fans said that they couldn't believe that I am doing this show and that I am one of the reasons that they would be watching it. My purpose is to entertain the audiences. I have big plans for that, be it my entry or be it my game. I am quite happy and very excited.
What are the kind of people that you would want to stay away from. Anything that triggers you?
To be honest, I don't think there is anything that will trigger me as such. My past experiences have made me stronger, I think survivors of physical abuse and mental abuse are stronger. I am not going with the intention of fighting with people. For me, people don't matter as such. The show does. It is giving me a platform and I want to utilize it and do something that will be remembered.
Reality shows have some restrictions. What is something dear you can't part from? Have you been getting advice from your celebrity friends?
My dearest thing is my phone, which they will take away from before I enter the show. I am addicted to it so that is going to be tough. I have been getting phone calls from my industry friends for congratulating me. I don't think people can have any advice because none of us know anything and it's like trying to achieve the number 1 rank in school without even knowing the subject. But I am really excited about what the show is going to be like and what new experiences it will add.
Lock Upp starts streaming on AltBalaji and MX player from 27th February.
