MUMBAI: Actress Charlie Chauhan, who is still re-called for her role Ela in the teen drama Best Friends Forever and Mukti Vardhan in Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan, gets in a chat with TellyChakkar and talks about her career plans, dealing with negative comments and more. Read on.
What kind of roles do you see yourself doing in the near future?
“I'm looking forward to doing web series because many great actors are into it now and I want some performance-based work now. I've always done roles of a modern kind of girl but now I want to try something different and challenging. So, I'm looking forward to web series and movies.
What is your take on the stereotype that "web series actor's criteria is to be ready for bold scenes" and do you think that the content on web series is being repetitive in a particular genre?
I've got a lot of offers before this, which demanded me to do some bold scenes which weren't really necessary with respect to the character. It was just for the sake of TRP and to sell their content, due to which I rejected those offers. I've done Voot shows, but I've never done any kissing scenes even though I've done romantic scenes. I don't mind wearing short clothes, but I'm not comfortable with unnecessary bold scenes.”
There's a sudden boom on social media, do you feel some kind of pressure for maintaining your followers and being active on social media?
Social Media has been very beneficial during the lockdown, because we had no other earnings and weren't working. But I don't let the count take a toll on me anymore. Because I've seen that the people who are getting more views are doing absolutely anything.
How do you deal with negativity on social media?
I don't read the comments in the first place. I've been in that zone for the past many years, but if I do read it then I just reply to it and leave.
Good luck Charlie
