MUMBAI : Fardeen Khan is all set to make his come back to Bollywood with the film Visfot. During his recent interview with a leading entertainment portal, Fardeen Khan opened up about his debut film Prem Aggan, his father Feroz Khan, director Ram Gopal Varma and a lot more.
During the interview, the actor was asked about his film Prem Aggan for which he won the best debutante award. How did you deal with the pressure after that film? Fardeen Khan said, Firstly I don't think I deserve that award, to be very honest with you. It was a culture back then the people used to get awards. When I look at my work, I feel I don't deserve that. The film didn't work, I didn't work, when I look back at that film I feel I look horrible in that film. I sat at home for a whole one year, I didn't have work, people who had signed me in their films took their money back from me.
My father was very clear, he said to me, we tried but we failed. So, I will give you a roof over your head and food for one year. So he gave me some money on which I had to survive the whole month. I had a car those days for which I couldn't afford the gas. My dad was very strict in that sense because he was a completely self-made man and he just didn't believe in protecting me in terms of economic reality. He told me that is the most important thing in life which you have to learn for yourself. The reviews of my films were bad, so no one wanted to work with me.
After some time, I picked myself up and dusted my boots. I came up with a plan and started meeting people. Started working on my Hindi which was very bad at that time. Luckily one day Ram Gopal Varma called me and asked me to meet him right away. We sat and talked for 15-20 minutes and then he said, that we are working together on the film. I couldn't believe my ears. And that's how the film Jungle happened.
The actor was then asked when Jungle became hit, everyone started noticing him again. The actor said, of course, that was my resurrection, so to speak. That film helped me to get noticed and after that, I did two more films with Ram Gopal Verma. So, there are two people to whom I owe, first one is my father Feroz Khan, and then Ram Gopal Verma. These are my two acting teachers. With them, my learning curve just short up.
