Exclusive! Leela to get insecure and jealous in the prequel of Anupamaa

MUMBAI: TellyChakkar has been at the forefront of reporting exclusively from the world of television.

We were the first to break the news about Hotstar bringing a prequel to television’s hit show Anupamaa. The show has been constantly bagging the number 1 position thanks to the team who works hard in front and behind the camera to bring out the best for viewers.

As reported by us, it will be an 11-episode series and will revolve around Anupamaa and Vanraj’s married life. It will start from when they have completed 10 years of their wedding. Viewers will get a glimpse of Shah family’s earlier days and how Vanraj treated Anupamaa like a mere doormat.

We also broke the news about veteran actress Sarita Joshi joining the cast for the prequel. She will play the role of Badi Baa in the series.

In the series, Anupamaa and Badi Baa gel very well. Seeing their camaraderie, Leela will get insecure and jealous. Leela thinks that Badi Baa takes all the decisions in the house. She believes that later, Anupamaa will take her place and she won't get any importance.

We hear that Sarita Joshi’s character will be very jovial. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Sarita aka Badi Baa will be the star of the series.

Sarita ji has already impressed the masses with her role as Baa in Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, and now, viewers are definitely going to love her as Badi Baa.

Apart from Anupamaa (Rupali Ganguly) and Vanraj (Sudhanshu Pandey), other characters like Baa, Bapuji, Toshu, Samar, and Dolly will be a part of the series. However, the characters of Samar and Toshu will be played by child artists.

The shooting for the prequel has already begun. It is expected to be launched by the end of April or the beginning of May.
