MUMBAI: Divya Bharti was one of the highest paid actresses of her time in the Hindi film industry. The actor began her career in her teen-days , initiating her journey opposite Venkatesh in a romantic-action Telugu film, Bobili Raja, released in the year 1990. The diva subsequently entered the world of Bollywood gaining extensive stardom with her mind-blowing performances.

The beauteous actor began her journey in the Bollywood industry with the film Vishwatma opposite Sunny Deol, released in the year 1990. The next film that led the actor’s path to prosperity in the cinema world was Shola Aur Shabnam which happened to be a blockbuster film in the year 1992. Divya won the FilmFare Award for Best Female Debut.

However, the sudden demise of the rising Bollywood star on 5th April 1993 blew everyone’s minds. Divya Bharti who was to share the screen with Sanjay Kapoor for the film Kartavya, passed away after shooting almost 40% of the film. The teenage actor who received famdom from all over the country died after falling from the balcony of her Mumbai apartment. Divya had signed several films during her time but her demise left all the projects at risk. It was then Juhi Chawla who replaced Divya in the film Kartavya.

Sanjay who happened to sign his first film, Kartavya, was delayed due to Divya’s death. The actor then debuted in the Hindi Cinema with Tabu in the film Prem (1995).

Divya Bharti is still remembered for her acting prowess in the Bollywood industry.
