Interesting! South superstar Yash has this to say to Salman Khan

MUMBAI: After the massive success of the Baahubali franchise, Pushpa, and other South films, the actors from the industry are getting a lot of praise. Even some Bollywood stars appreciated the level of work they do in their films. Most recently, Salman Khan spoke about the RRR box office and wondered why our films don’t work in the south. Now KGF Chapter 2 star Yash, who is on a promotional spree, gave a perfect reply to his query.

Yash said that it is not like that. According to him, even South films never used to get this kind of reception. It started with people playing dubbed versions here and the audience became familiar with the content of what they were creating. Initially, it started as a joke for entertainment as nobody gave importance to that space. He went on to add that now people have got familiar with their way of storytelling and their cinema. So it has not happened overnight. This has been there for a few years and eventually, they started understanding the content, the expression of the direction and everything. And then they got a straight connect with ‘Baahubali’.

He added that in our culture, there are a lot of differences, and that should become our strengths rather than becoming our weaknesses. According to him, it is all about relatability. He also pointed out the fact that there are lots of films from the North that are massive hits. They have watched a lot of films of Hindi stars and they all love them.

However, although the makers of Hindi films have penetrated the South market, Yash feels instead of just releasing the film, other aspects like good distribution, good production houses should also be considered.

The South actor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming sequel film, which will hit cinema halls in the coming days. The Prashanth Neel directorial also stars Sanjay Dutt, Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon and Prakash Raj in key roles. Along with Kannada, the film will also release in dubbed versions of Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam languages.

Meanwhile, Salman is busy with Tiger 3, which also stars Emraan Hashmi. It has been shot in several foreign locations including Turkey, Austria, and Russia. A teaser of the film was released last month.

Stay tuned for more news from the entertainment industry.
