Dadasaheb Phalke awards for Yash Chopra, Rajesh Khanna and Asha Bhosle

The Dadasaheb Phalke Academy will honour filmmaker Yash Chopra, Rajesh Khanna and Asha Bhosle with the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards at 13th Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards ceremony that would be held on 30 April. While the late Yashji will be conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award for his services to the Indian film industry, his wife Pamela will receive the Saraswatibai Phalke Award. On the other had Khanna will be honoured as the first superstar of Indian cinema award, while Bhosle will be presented with the Phalke Ratna Award for her contribution in the field of music for five decades. Coming to the present day, Akshay Kumar will be presented with the best actor award for Rowdy Rathore while his mother-in-law Dimple Kapadia will receive the Phalke Ever Memorable actor award. Manoj Bajpai will get the Phalke Excellent Performance award for Gangs of Wasseyur while Irrfan Khan will receive the Phalke Memorable Performance Award for Paan Singh Tomar. Govinda will be presented with the Phalke Versatile Actor award. Noted villain and character actor Prem Chopra will be presented with the Phalke senior actor (negative role) Award and Mala Sinha will be given the Phalke Icon Cine Artiste Award. Newcomer Arjun Kapoor will be honoured with Phalke Debut Actor Award while music composer-singer-actor Himesh Reshamiya will be presented with the Phalke Best Supporting Actor Award for Khiladi 786. On the TV front, Disha Vakani and Dilip Joshi will be given away the best TV actor and actress in the small screen category for their performances in the popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The event is held annually to celebrate Dada Saheb Phalke Jayanti, where most senior members of various craft of film production sector are honoured by presenting trophies for their outstanding services to the industry. The 13th Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards will be held at the Bhaidas Auditorium in Vile Parle.
