MUMBAI : Malayalam actor Vineeth Thattil, on Tuesday was arrested by the Kerala Police for allegedly assaulting a youth. Charges of a murder attempt at a man named Alex, a resident of Alappuzha, Kerala has also been imposed on him.
According to the Kerala Police, Vineeth had assaulted Alex on Monday, July 24, over a financial dispute which led to the latter getting admitted to a hospital. They added that a case under Section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against Vineeth.

"Alex complained to police yesterday that he was assaulted by Thattil. Alex is currently hospitalised," police said. Vineeth is to be produced before a court in the matter.
Media reports have it that Vineeth and Alex would often get into heated arguments over matters related to money. However, things got out of hand when Alex visited Vineeth to ask for the money he owed him. Vineeth is said to have attacked Alex with a machete and injured his hand.

Meanwhile, Vineeth is known for his pivotal roles in Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon starrer Ayyappanum Koshiyum. The film was directed by Sachy who is unfortunately no more.
Besides, the Mollywood actor has been a part of several notable films including Aadu - Oru Bheegara Jeevi Aanu 2 and Thrissur Pooram. Vineeth was last seen in Ahammed Khabeer’s Hello June which featured Rajisha Vijayan, Sarjano Khalid, and Joju George.
