What was your reaction when you heard the script of Duranga for the first time?

I kept thinking how I am going to do this. I had to figure out a lot of things. Sometimes not knowing much about certain things is also quite interesting. It urges you to figure it out. I didn't think much about the story. I was thinking about how I would interpret this character. That got me interested.

What was the most challenging part to play this role?

I think the physical part. The first question is how to portray it. Later, you figure it out in different ways by talking to the team. When you figure it out, it becomes easy. You know what to do. Once you are well-prepared, there is a switch. You don't have to think much. The underwater swimming sequences which we did were a bit challenging. I can swim but I am not that good at it. It feels a bit weird. This was definitely the most challenging.

How do you think your journey has been till now?

I think I am quite happy. It's not so bad either. A lot of people would want to be in my place. So, considering this, I am very happy. I always try to push myself to do better when it comes to my work. I still feel that things could be better in many places but I try not to beat myself about it. I do want to keep getting better.

The series is a a remake of the Korean drama Flower of Evil and helmed by Pradeep Sarkar and Aijaz Khan.

It also stars Abhijit Khandkekar, Barkha Sengupta, Rajesh Khattar, Divya Seth and Zakir Hussain, Duranga will stream on ZEE5 from August 19.
