Was Khoobsurat initially intended to be a love triangle story?

If sources are to be believed Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat (Shashi Sumeet Productions) was originally supposed to be a love triangle story involving Aaradhya (Soumya Seth), Madhav (Rohit Khurana) and Rahul (Abhishek Malik). Initially it had been decided that Aaradhya and Rahul were to get married and Madhav was to turn negative later on. It was later decided that Aaradhya and Rahul would be married and Madhav would always be a positive character. This decision was taken keeping in mind the fact that the TRP may not have gone too well if the original route was taken. Shashi Mittal, producer of Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat however denied this. She said, “It is true that we go on brainstorming and come up with many ideas of how the show should proceed. This story line was never amongst them.” Turning Madhav negative would be a cliché and would dilute the social message of The Beauty and the Beast.
