MUMBAI: Rasika Dugal is a very successful and popular name in the world of entertainment. She has been part of several Bollywood, Television, and OTT projects.
She made her screen debut with a small role in the film Anwar and then she went on to star in many critically acclaimed films namely No Smoking, Aurangzeb, Qissa, Train Station, Tu Hai Mera Sunday, Hamid, etc.
Rasika's breakthrough came in the year 2018 for her role in the Amazon Prime Video original series Mirzapur, for which she earned a nomination for the Indian Television Academy Awards in the category of Best Actress in a web series and since then there is no looking back for the actress as the fame and praises she got is commendable.
These days she is grabbing the headlines for her role in the upcoming series Delhi Crime Season 2 where she essays the role of Neeti.
TellyChakkar got in touch with the actress and asked her how her experience working with Shefali Shah and the challenges she faced while playing this role.
How was your experience working with Shefali Shah?
It was an amazing experience to share screen space with her. With each performance, she is getting better. I told her once that with each performance I feel that’s it now from here which heights she would reach but again she surprises you with powerful performances. I am always impressed by her work and she is very inspiring. Recently, I saw her in Jalsa and Darlings and I keep telling her that her work in Jalsa is on another level, she was outstanding in the movie.
What are the challenges you faced while playing this role?
A very interesting research work, I shadowed a cop in Season 1, and I had asked the makers to introduce me to a probation officer in the same rank, just to see and know what they do on a regular basis. Also, Police people are very particular about protocols so wanted to see how the police officer of that rank followed what type of protocols, and during Season 2 also, I called the same officer just to see how things are and she too got promoted and became an ACP that time. So I observed her the way she was and spent some time with her and it was fascinating to spend some time in the police station.
What is your message for the fans as their expectation from Season 2 is very high considering Season 1 was a huge success?
Season 2 is a story of cops investigating a crime so it will be a very interesting insight through the cops and the society we live in. It will be thrilling for the investigating part of it.
Well, there is no doubt that the audience is excited to watch Rasika Dugal back in Delhi Crime Season 2.
