No stars to send off Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Dutt
The turn-out at Sanjay Dutt’s Pali Hill residence on Thursday morning as he took off for his jail term was pretty abysmal. Among his close friends, there were only Mahesh Bhatt, Bunty Walia, Sohail Makhlai, Raj Kundra and Vashu Bhagnani. And yes, the glamour quotient was provided by Sophie Chowdhary, Dutt’s only female co-star who showed up for the send-off. At the time of leaving for court Dutt’s mood, according to friends, was of brave acceptance. “There were no tears and hysterics, as reported by some imaginative sections of the press. Baba left for court in a calm and controlled state of mind. He wasn’t speaking much. But then neither were we. This was a very peculiar place to be in. How does one see a dear friend off to jail?” Apparently, the entire atmosphere of somberness was hijacked by the charges of spot-fixing against Raj Kundra’s IPL players. “Sadly,” says one of Dutt’s friends. “Everyone got more interested in Raj Kundra than Sanjay Dutt after the spot-fixing news came in.”
