Akangsha visits orphanage on birthday

Akangsha Rawat, aka Meera of Solhah Singaarr fame, celebrated her birthday yesterday. On this auspicious occasion, Akanghsa took time out to visit an orphanage - something which she has been doing for the last two years. Talking on her social visit, she says, “Since the last two years, I’ve been visiting the ‘Udan Ghar’ orphanage which is backed by Project Crayons. During any occasion, my friends and I pay a visit to this orphanage and do our little bit by donating clothes, sweets and chocolates. This time, the children were in need of mats, a tape recorder and we obliged.” Akangsha isn’t the lone celebrity to visit this orphanage. “Other big celebrities too visit this orphanage but I wouldn’t like to name anyone as they may not be comfortable with it,” she sighs. Well, after spending the morning in the orphanage Akangsha threw a small party for her close friends at her place in the evening. So how did the party pan out? Akangsha replies, “It was a very private affair. However, my friends gave me a scare when they told me that they wouldn’t be able to come. I was a little dejected but as it turned out they were just joking. We were all too tired with the day’s work that we couldn’t party long. My friends left at around 12.30 am.” So did the birthday girl get lovely gifts? “Yes, I was gifted 3-4 salwar-kameez. Television actors usually don traditional clothes and so my friends are used to seeing me in such wear. That’s the reason why they gifted me suits. While their presents were fine, they left my house a bit dirty. Right now, I’m cleaning the house,” concludes the actress.
