I am lively and energetic - Tarana Raja

Tarana Raja, who stars in Sony TV’s Bade Achhe Lagte Hain (Balaji Telefilms) as Neha Vikram Shergill avers that her reel role was framed to match her real personality. “Like Neha, I am also not at all shy or timid. I am lively and energetic.” We love to see the scenes with Neha and Vikram (Jai Kalra) as they are sweet and chirpy. How does the pretty actress feel while shooting the delightful scenes? She replies, “We discuss the scene and its purpose before we shoot it. We improvise to make it even better. Writers keep changing but I understand my character the best.” Her mother Madhu Raja is also a part of the same show. She plays Krishna Ji (Ram Kapoor’s mother). Isn’t it fun for her that her mom is her co-actress? “Indeed it is a pleasure to work with her. We don’t have too many scenes together though. Our green rooms are different too. That is because if you hang out with the same person for 24 hours you will get on one another’s nerves. (laughs) We check on one another every hour though. My mom loves to interact with everyone in the show. In fact she gels very well with the younger group.” Indeed her mom who is a veteran actress and has a very elegant personality is her role model. “I would love to write a book on her life as she has after all led a fascinating one.” Tarana takes up her favourite book and reads it in the green room. She is an avid reader. “I love to read. I am currently obsessed with the fantasy genre. I'm actually re-reading Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time again for fun! That's 14 books of at least 1000 pages each. Again!” She also unwinds by listening to music. “I love all kinds of music! I just don't get heavy metal or trance! Most people are very particular about the kind of music they like, a rock lover may not like pop, but I'm very moody and tend to listen to an eclectic playlist everyday as per my mood.” Tarana loves to travel. “Whenever I get a chance I try and get away from the city. Even a road trip on a long weekend gets me rejuvenated. Last year was exceptionally great for me in terms of travel. I managed to visit the Caribbean, Spain and Zanzibar, all places I hadn't been to before along with trips to London, Hong Kong and Dubai! This year I'm headed to a music festival in Belgium in July and I'm very excited about that trip.” When we enquired about her relationship status, she replied that she is single and loving it. We wish this pretty and talented actress all the best in both her career and personal life.
