MUMBAI : One of the longest running and most loved shows, Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma has been everyone’s favourite for a long time now. Audiences love the iconic characters of the show and their jokes and expressions have even been made into memes. Reports have it that actor Bhavya Gandhi, who played the original Tappu Sena on the show, is bound to make a comeback. Apparently, the show makers had approached the actor and asked him to return to the show, but Bhavya has denied these reports saying that it is not true.
After his exit, Bhavya Gandhi had been active in Gujarati cinema and theatre. Raj Anadkat had replaced Bhavya Gandhi on the show. He too stayed on for a fixed time period. Now, Raj Anadkat is working towards a career in Bollywood. Of late, he did a romantic music video as well.
Other than this, the show has been facing a lot of rumours and criticisms as well. It was recently reported that Disha Vakani had been diagnosed with throat cancer. However, her brother Mayur Vakani was quick to put these rumours to rest and called the news fake and baseless. The actress is now a mother to two young kids.
Many viewers feel that it’s time for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah to go off-air. The show has changed a lot after the main characters left. It does not feel the same without Disha Vakani as Dayaben. The humour feels jaded, and it does not live up to the standards they set in the beginning. TMKOC is still watched in homes and across cities and small towns in India. Bhavya Gandhi literally grew up playing the role and is still widely remembered as Tappu Sena.
