Rakshanda Khan opens up about her losing out on good roles, says, “Competition is great as long as it’s healthy”

Rakshanda has been part of many super successful shows like ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi’, ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘Naagin 3’ and ‘Kasamh Se’ among others. However, the actress says she lost out on many great roles because of her high fees as the production also had a strict budget.

MUMBAI: Television actress Rakshanda Khan is currently impressing her fans in the show ‘Janam Janam ka Saath’. However, the actress says she lost out on many great roles because of her high fees as the production also had a strict budget.

Khan said, “Competition is great as long as it’s healthy. Yes, sometimes I’ve felt I’ve lost out on roles to people not necessarily on the basis of talent but also budget. But I’ve also realized what was meant for me has always come to me, in every sphere of life. Therefore, all I can show in life is gratitude, even for the competition.”

Talking about her role of Dr. Karuna on Janam Janam ka Saath, Rakshanda said, “The title ‘Janam Janam Ka Saath’ reflects the story in an instant. It’s a love story spanning almost a century. A love that could not be fulfilled in one birth, the lovers had to be reborn to fulfill their love story.” She further added, “I play a character called Dr. Karuna Tomar, she is the hero. The kind of mother whose whole world revolves around her son. She can do anything for him. And the same goes for the son too.”

Rakshanda has been part of many super successful shows like ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi’, ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘Naagin 3’ and ‘Kasamh Se’ among others. Talking about how things have changed then and now she adds, “I’ve always felt that TV as a medium was lopsided in favor of women, but in the past few years things have definitely changed and we see a lot more strong make characters. The balance is still ever so slightly tipped in favor of women but I guess I like it that way!”
