MUMBAI : Manish Gulati is all set to make his OTT debut with Netflix’s series CAT which stars Randeep Hooda in the lead role. The actor has earlier done theatre, and now, everyone is looking forward to his performance in CAT which will premiere on the OTT platform on 9th December 2022.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Manish and spoke to him about his role in CAT, his experience of working with Randeep, and more…
How excited or nervous are you about your OTT debut with CAT?
I am equally excited and nervous. As the release date is getting closer my excitement level is going up. So, I would like to be more excited than nervous.
Tell us something about your character in the series…
I am playing a character named Monty Singh. He is a stylish gangster, and his purpose in life is to get married to Kimi (a character in the series) and take over the business of the person he is working for. He wants to own everything and that’s why every morning when he wakes up, he says, ‘Punjab Ka King Monty Singh’. So, he is a mixture of attitude, arrogance, and impulsiveness. He goes through a lot of beautiful phases; you will see him doing all the gangster things, you will see him in love, you will see him fighting with his dad, and the emotional moments. The character has been written beautifully. At the end of the day, people will love him and hate him at the same time.
How was your experience of working with Randeep Hooda?
Most of my scenes are with him in the show. My first shot on set was with Randeep only, and it was a very difficult scene. For a few days as an actor on the set, you get a hang of it. But, for Randeep I want to just say one thing he is the most beautiful co-star and a lovely human being to be with on set. He has supported and helped me to make sure that my performance enhances. He used to discuss the scenes with me and tell me what are you thinking; so all these things mattered.
