Rajkumar Santoshi to helm film featuring Pankaj and Shahid Kapoor

Filmgoers are in for a feast when they will say the father-son team of Pankaj Kapur and Shahid Kapur in a film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. While the senior Kapur has already worked with Shahid before directing him in Mausam, this will be the first time the two will share screen space as co actors. With this film, Santoshi will be reviving his long-cherished dream of making a film on Asghar Wajahat’s play Jis Lahore Nahin Dekhya Woh Jamiya Nahin. It is said that the director initially wanted to cast Sanjay Dutt in the lead role. So much so, he had even planned to make a huge set of Lahore city at Hyderabad’s Ramoji Rao Studios, but the film got stuck for some reason then. Meanwhile, after completing his next film Phata Poster Nikla Hero that features Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz, Santoshi has planned to start multiple projects for which he is not talking to one but several actors for various scripts he’s written over the years. And the actors in questions are Sunny Deol, Shahid Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan. Then, of course the sequel of Andaz Apna Apna will also go on floors anytime this year.
