MUMBAI : Neena Gupta is a veteran actress and with Badhaai Ho she started her second innings in the film industry. This year, she has already impressed us with her performance in Uunchai and Goodbye, and now, she is gearing up for the release of Vadh, which is slated to release on 9th December 2022.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Neena Gupta and spoke to her about the credibility attached to her name, upcoming projects, and more…
There’s credibility attached to your name that if Neena Gupta is a part of the film it will be a good movie. Does that put pressure on you while signing a film?
There was a time when I had to do anything for money and to manage my house. But now, that time has gone; I earn well, my husband also earns well and even my daughter is earning well. Now, I only do roles that excite me and now in the last few years, I have started saying no to projects. Earlier, I couldn’t even think of saying no to a film. Recently, I was at an airport and I met two young girls. They came to me and said, ‘ma’am we are your fan and earlier we used to see that a film has Deepika or other actresses so according to that we used to go and watch the film, but now we see that if a film has Neena Gupta, it will for sure be a good movie. So, this was a very great compliment for me. There’s no pressure now, the pressure was when I used to do badly written roles.
Tell us something about your upcoming projects…
I have recently completed a film titled Sabun. Then I have done a film called Baa, then an anthology titled Lust Stories; so a lot of things are going to come.
After two successful seasons of Masaba Masaba, is season three of the series happening?
We haven’t got the go-ahead yet, but we are waiting.
