MUMBAI: Jyoti Gauba is one of the most popular actresses on the small screen. She has done over 600 commercials to date and made her film debut with the film Idiot Box. She was also seen in films like Take It Easy, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic.
She has been featured in many television shows like Ek Hasina Thi, Kavach... Kaali Shaktiyon Se , Badii Devrani, Maat Pitaah Ke Charnon Mein Swarg, Agent Raghav – Crime Branch, Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage, Ek Mutthi Aasmaan, Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki, Hello Friends, Phir Subah Hogi and Mastaangi - One Love Story Two Lifetimes.
She was last seen as Supriya Vyas in Piyaa Albela. Currently, she is portraying the role of Anuja Chaturvedi in Star Plus's Imlie. She has been a part of Imlie since before the leap playing a grey-shade character. The audience loves her performance.
Tellychakkar recently got in touch with the actress and got to know interesting insights about the show.
What are your thoughts about the track currently going on in Imlie?
“The current track is between Chini, Imlie, and Atharva. Anu is hoping that she can hook Chini with Atharva. Though Chini is not interested in Atharva, she just wants money. She does not care about anything else. I also want my revenge from Imlie so I am using her to take my revenge.”
You have been a part of the show since before the leap. What similarities and differences do you see in the show?
“The similarity I see is that the track is between two lead girls and a hero. The difference that I can see is that in the first season, Malini was completely positive at first. She would not function herself, it was me who held her to take revenge. But Chini is not like that. The current generation is smarter than the previous one. Chini belongs to that lot. Chini’s ideas and thoughts are much more advanced. She need not be told much, she does things on her own. If Chini goes off track, then she has to be reminded and put back on track.”
What and who do you miss before the leap?
“I miss my number of shooting days and scenes because I had really strong scenes in season 1. In the second season, since the family has changed, I don’t have much involvement in the scenes with them. So that is what I miss. Whatever little scenes they call me for, I go and shoot with them hoping the track would come out better not knowing what is to come in the future. Talking about who I miss, I quite miss Malini. I had a lot of scenes with her. We had lovely scenes where we developed a strong bonding between us. We have also gone outdoors to shoot during the pandemic. So when we went outdoors, the bond grew all the more stronger. It was real and reel chemistry with her.”
