MUMBAI: Anshumaan Pushkar has left a strong mark on OTT with his performances in web series like Kathmandu Connection seasons 1 and 2, Grahan, Jamtara seasons 1 and 2, and others. Currently, he is busy garnering praise for his performance in Kathmandu Connection season 2.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Anshumaan and spoke to him about the roles he wants to do, upcoming projects, and more.
You have worked with Amit Sial multiple times before Kathmandu Connection season 2. So, how was the experience of sharing screen space with him again?
He is the kind of person from whom you can learn so many things. He is like a big brother to me. He is a kind of a person who whatever mistakes he has done in the past, will never let you repeat them. He gives a lot of input. Every time I work with him, I find new chapters in life. I have worked with him four times, and every time he takes a higher level. My schooling is that I keep my eyes on all the actors around. So, always it is a learning and scintillating experience to work with him.

We have mainly seen you playing serious roles, and you are relatively a newcomer. So, what kind of roles you are looking forward to?
When I was in the village, there was a person who used to get dressed up and come, and scare us and make us laugh. He used to get dressed in different avatars and then ask and take things from us like rice and other things. He was my first inspiration, and one day, he came dressed as Kali maa. I remember I was just 12-13 years old at that time, and I understood that he is the same person, who made us laugh yesterday, but then I cried and I hid behind my mother. Now also I feel that the person is very interesting. Whenever I go to my village, I meet him. So, I want to perform all nine emotions. For an artist, there’s no place, no age, and no caste, I want to become like that. I want to be like water whichever role I get, I get into that shape. I will try and experience everything. I have tried comedy (upcoming project), and while shooting I enjoyed it a lot; now let’s see if you guys will like it or not. I want to achieve all the nine emotions.”
Tell us something upcoming your upcoming project
I have done two web series which will be released next year. There are also two films, but I don’t know if I can talk about them. So, two web series and two films.
