It would be nice if Savitri gets loads of love and support from the audience: Ridhi Dogra

Although Ridhi Dogra is disappointed with the fact that her Life OK mythological show Savitri is not really rocking the TRP charts, she is not losing heart. “We have not given up and are all working very hard. We can’t say that we will only put in our best if the public starts liking it,” the actress quips. “Also, we have to accept that this show, from the stables of Flying Turtle Productions, is a different type of show. Most of the shooting has been done on the green screen. We also have lots of computer graphics as well. I have done sword fighting, shooting in the jungle, etc. Do you see any such stuff in a normal daily? Hence it would be nice if we get loads of love and support from the audience, given that we are attempting to push the TV content envelope,” she avers. “I get encouraged by the fact that when I go out, many fans come forward and praise my efforts in the show. Recently, when we went to the Maldives, people there told us that they watch Savitri. Agreed it might be a small section, but it is being appreciated,” she adds. Ridhi goes on to add, “We are well aware of the fact that we have a very strong and competitive 8.30 pm prime time slot across channels which already boasts of a love story (Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai) and a comedy (Taarak Mehta…). So, we know that it will take some time for our novel concept to start finding favour with the larger audiences. Once that happens, we will surely rise up the ratings score as well.” Bringing an end to the conversation, the actress observes, “That the concept of the show is not something ancient like a woman bringing her husband back from the dead rather than somebody standing by what she believes is right. This is especially right about most Indian women who tend to forget themselves after marriage and start going by social norms. All in all, Savitri is a fiction show and I hope such a thing never happens to any other woman for it is not a very pleasant thing, but it is symbolic that you stand by your husband through thick and thin.”
