Samantha Ruth Prabhu gets clicked at Mumbai airport; is she in the city to shoot for Citadel with Varun Dhawan?

Samantha Ruth Prabhu was recently spotted at Mumbai airport, and we wonder if the actress has come to the city for the shooting of the web series Citadel which also stars Varun Dhawan in the lead role.

MUMBAI: Samantha Ruth Prabhu is one of the biggest names down South. She grabbed the attention of the Hindi audiences with her performance in The Family Man 2 and with her song Oo Anatava in Pushpa: The Rise. There were reports that Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be teaming up for the Indian version of the series Citadel, the picture of the actors with the creators of the show Raj & DK, kind of confirmed the collaboration. 

But, a couple of weeks ago, when the web series was officially announced only Varun’s look was unveiled and Samantha was not even tagged in the post. Netizens started wondering whether due to her ill health, Samantha has left the series.

Citadel is being made internationally by The Russo Brothers and it stars Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden in the lead roles. So, the Indian installment of Citadel was also announced by The Russo Brothers. They posted, “We are thrilled to officially announce that we will be bringing you the Indian installment of the Citadel universe. The local Original spy series will start filming in January 2023.”

In the announcement post, it was announced that the series will go on the floors in January 2023, and recently, Samantha was spotted at Mumbai airport. So, we wonder whether the actress has flown down to the city for the shoot of Citadel. Well, let’s hope that the makers soon announce the actress’ casting in the series, so it will clear the air whether she is a part of Citadel or not. 

Meanwhile, Samantha has two biggies down South, Shaakuntalam, and Kushi. The former is a Telugu film, but it will be dubbed and released in various languages like Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. It is slated to release on 27 February 2023.
