Tell us something about your upcoming short film Pyare Papa

It’s a short film with a big message. It addresses the problems in the family, and it’s very relatable. It’s about a man who is a drunkard; he is not only spoiling his body but also the atmosphere of society. It’s a very strong subject. The performances in the film are good, and the writing is very good. You will feel like you are watching a proper full-fledged film.

How was your experience of working with Santosh Ojha?

It was a tiring experience because there were date issues as I was shooting for something else as well. I got a gap of one day, and in that one day we shot it continuously; there was no break. There are different locations, and a lot of changes were there. But, when I saw the first cut of the film, I felt it was all worth it. It has turned out to be better than what I saw on paper. But, it was totally fun to shoot; earlier I was joking a bit. Yes, it was tiring, but it was a fun experience.

How different is the character from what you have played earlier?

It’s very different from what I have done earlier. In Ludo, it was a difficult character for me as I am not like that at all. So, even this character was not relatable for me and that’s why it was difficult. He is a character who keeps drinking alcohol day and night. The film’s name is Pyare Papa, but the character is not a darling. So, that was challenging as sometimes mentally you get tired and exhausted while performing such a character. So, yes it was a difficult part for me.

Pyare Papa also stars Anamica Kadamb in the lead role.
