Shraddha in Meri Bhabhi is a very strong character having many layers: Kanchi Kaul

Kanchi Kaul
Pretty looking Kanchi Kaul is back on TV with Star Plus’ Meri Bhabhi (DJ’s A Creative Unit). In this show, the actress will be seen as Shraddha, a woman who is forced to get back to her parents’ house after her marital life goes haywire. Interestingly, in this show, unlike most other small screen shows, the entire family will be seen accepting their daughter with open arms. Talking about her role Kanchi shares with Tellychakkar.com, “It’s a very strong character with a lot of layers and am excited to play it.” Since, this is her first show post-marriage with actor-producer Shabbir Ahluwalia, we asked what took her so long to get back to work, to which she stated, “I was offered a lot of shows but this is the one that excited me as it is a great project being produced by some very good people for a great channel. Apart from that, the plot is very progressive as far as its story telling is concerned. That is why I took it up.” Was her hubby supportive of her decision? “We are both very supportive of each other’s work. In fact, we also give opinions and positive feedbacks to each other. For me, the marriage was more like marrying my best friend,” she says. Now that you’re busy shooting, will you have enough time for each other? “We spend a lot of time with each other. In fact, whenever we have some free time, we go scuba diving and mountain climbing. We are both certified scuba divers,” she informs. On her equation with her co-stars in her upcoming show Kanchi observes, “Esha (Kansara) is a very good human being and is also very hard working. I can say that she loves her job and probably that’s what shows on-screen. Kanwaljeetji (Singh) and Supriyaji (Pilgaonkar) are wonderful human beings; they help us so much. In fact with Supriyaji, I can talk about everything which includes shopping too. Kanwalji is like a father both, on and off-screen. My on-screen brother Vipul is more like a friend. In fact, in real life, we stay in the same building. So, we keep pulling each other’s legs. We also have a lot of pillow fights; I hit him a lot (laughs).” We just hope this off-screen equation works on-screen too. Meri Bhabhi airs from 17 June at 8pm.
