MUMBAI :When was the last time you watched a rom-com, especially a well-made rom-com? Don’t remember! Well, it is hard to remember as in the past couple of years, especially during the pandemic and post-the pandemic, filmmakers have been concentrating on biopics, action-thrillers, and other genres. But the genre of romantic-comedy is not being explored much in Bollywood nowadays.
However, on 8 March 2023, a rom-com titled Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is going to release in theatres. The film is directed by Luv Ranjan and stars Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. The teaser and posters of the film have grabbed the attention of the audiences, and the trailer will be out on 23rd Jan 2023.

We spoke to a few people and asked them whether Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar will get the rom-com genre back in the game and here’s what they have to say…
Angela: Yes, of course, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar looks like the perfect rom-com we all have been waiting for. It’s a genre we haven’t seen in a long time, and after TJMM, let’s hope more filmmakers will make romantic comedies.
Kalpesh: Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar looks like a copy-paste of Luv Ranjan’s last few movies. I don’t have any expectations from it, and no one is interested in watching Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.
Mehek: Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar might be a good film, but it will only work because of Luv Ranjan’s name. One cannot guarantee that it will get the rom-com genre back in the game.
Tariq: Audience just wants good movies irrespective of their genre. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar looks like an interesting film, if it’s good it will work, but can’t say anything about the rom-com genre.
Sneha: Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar will be a flop. No one is interested in putting money and watching a romantic-comedy; Bollywood needs to learn something from the South.
